Hi there,

You should be commended for being so selfless as to consider donating your eyes to others who are less fortunate.

To answer your question... Yes, you can donate your eyes...

Infact, when you pass away, that's the first thing the ambulance guys check for... if you donate your organs, they will harvest your eyes first... and put them into a little 'esky' so that they don't go cloudy and decompose.....

But there is a catch....

You can donate your 'whole' eyeball to others, but only the Cornea (the clear dome at the front of your eyes... the surface that you put your contact lens on) can be 'transplanted' onto other people's eyes.

Infact, the technology is so good now that 1 eye ball can restore eyesight for up to 3 people, as your cornea can be separated into 3 different layers.

Other than that, unfortunately no other parts of the eye ball can be transplanted into another eye at this time.. but hopefully science will change that soon.

your eyes are paired. the only way you can loose an eye is if one of them wasn't developed yet when you were born, or it got poked out somehow. and your eyes are connected to your brain. so, no. you cannot move your eyes from one person to the other.

No, it's not, because the eye is connected to the brain and so many other muscles in the body.
