I bet your teacher(s) would be more than happy to give you an extra little bit of help over the next few days if you talk to them after class or on break and tell them about what's happening with your glasses.
If I were your teacher I would gladly make a copy of the lesson I wrote on the board or just spend some time with you after class to make sure you're up to speed.
Good luck!
Once you have a prescription from an eye doctor or an optician, you should take that prescription and buy your glasses and/or prescription lenses online. They are always super marked-up in the shops. This way, you will save so much money that it won't matter if you use your insurance or not. I don't know your situation exactly, but just a guess that this would be just as good as your insurance.
There's a company www.replacementlensexpress.com that specializes in prescription eyeglass lenses. They don't show their full line of frames, but I know that if you find a frame you like in the shop or online, you can give them the make and model number and they will give you a really good quote (usually at wholesale) for the frames too. The optician's e-mail is info@replacementlensexpress.com and he is very friendly.

What about sitting next to a friend you can copy from ? I used to do this when I was cheating on eyesight tests so as nto to get glasses. you seem a lot more sensible. January isn't now that far away so you don't have long to go. If you don't want to speak to your teacher get your mum to write you a note.
