I am assuming you are referring Lasik or Laser Vision Correction surgery. You can have one eye done at a time, but it will most likely cost you more money and is certainly not the norm. If you are thinking having Lasik done on one eye at time to ensure that you have no post-surgical problems, you could have a good outcome on the first eye and not so good on the other and vice verse. Prior to having Lasik, your vision must be stable, meaning your corrective lens prescription has not changed in two years. Vision usually stabilizes in your early to mid-twenties

Most people experience satisfactory to excellent post surgical results with an increase in visual acuity to between 20/20 to 20/40. The most common side effect of Lasik is irreversible dry eyes. However, there is a small percentage (about 5%) who experience night blindness, halos, star bursts and loss of vision. These side-effects are usually permanent and often cause depression and loss of quality of life issues See "Sources" below for additional information on Lasik procedures and side effects

You can do yes, in some circumstances.

It would depend on the difference between the two eyes and whether the brain could cope with the difference.

It would also depend on thinks like pupil size - glare can be a problem after surgery so if there is going to be too much glare from one eye it would be better to have them both done at once so you recover more quickly.

When you go for your assessment, ask them about it - they can advise more accurately, relative to your particular case.

I had both done at the same time. It was not an issue and it was good just to get it over and done with. I have to be honest : it was not a nice experience. But it is over in no time and I could start to see much better afterwards. I spent an evening feeling like there was lemon juice in my eyes but the day after I could see really well and it only got better day after day. I do not regret it for a second.

Yes, although if your eyes are wildly different prescriptions, your brain might take some time between operations to adjust which might cause some side effects.
