First of all, I doubt you messed up your eyes from the computer, it seems that 13 was about the age I remember a lot of glasses started appearing on people in school, so chances are others in your classes will soon be needing glasses as well, so all the attention won't be on you alone.

In reality, nobody is really going to care all that much, if there are some jerks in your class, there might be a little teasing at first, but, if they see they aren't getting you upset, they will stop pretty quickly. Most encounters will be like this: person: "oh, you got glasses", you, "yes". You could add some humor to it, like: "My parents could have had gene splicing done so I never would develop nearsightedness, but glasses were cheaper".

Anyway, no need to study for the eye test, when they ask, just tell the truth whether you can read the letters or not.

I don't know if you are male/female but, don't panic, it is not like you are never going to get a date if you wear glasses. In fact, you would be surprised how many kids ask on here how to mess up their vision so they can wear glasses because they think they are cool!

In case, after the vision test, they say you do need glasses, maybe, try going to some of the on-line eyeglasses sites and start looking at frames, as there are a zillion styles! There must be something you would look good in! Write down the manufacturer and model # of any you like, this way you will have a "contingency plan" in case you don't like any of the frames they have at whatever optical shop you wind up going to.

You apparently need an eye exam. Stop acting like a child an grow up.

1. Eyeglasses can be a nice fashion accessory.
2. It is possible that you won't have to wear them all the time.
3. Contact lenses are available.

You can't prepare for the test because there's nothing to study. All you have to do is to answer simple question and read what the doctor will ask you to read. He will test your vision and try different corrections to see what's best for you. He can also use different equipment and tests to measure other factors about your eyesight.

All the other responses have brought up really good points.
You need to see an Optometrist at least every two years. Not just to test your vision, but to check the overall health of your eyes as well. Being told you have Glaucoma or Macular Degeneration can be scary for some people. You will eventually grow up and the teasing will stop. =)

Wow.. how vain and shallow.

Scared ? of what ? they make you look through a device and make you read a chart. They might puff a little air on your eye. All non painful.

You would rather go through life blind than wear glasses ? wow I can't believe that.

Get contacts.....

Old enough to know....scared for our youth

There isn't anything you can do to prepare yourself. They will make you read a chart & you will have to tell them what letter's you see. If you do need glasses ask your parents about letting you wear contacts. That way you can correct your vision & don't have to worry about glasses.
