Is it ok to put contacts directly from solution into your eyes, without using No!

Question: Is it ok to put contacts directly from solution into your eyes, without using Normal Saline?
I often find contacts cleaned by Normal Saline irritating in my eyes, I wonder how important is its function, and can using it be ommitted from the cleaning process?

Answers:

The answer is: Yes, it's OK to put CL's directly from the case (with MULTIPURPOSE/DISINFECTION solution in them) straight into your eyes...

Let's elaborate:
Saline doesn't CLEAN your lenses... they're just a RINSER... coz some people are SCROOGES and don't want to 'waste' MP solution to rinse their lenses.
Now, if saline 'cleaned' lenses irritated your eyes, it's either because...
1. you actually used Saline to clean your lenses.. and it didn't, and so you're wearing DIRTY lenses... (YUK)...
2. you used MP solution to cleaned your lenses, and just used saline to 'rinse' your lenses before insertion, and you've got an 'allergy' to the preservative that is in the saline (if the saline is NOT one from an aerosol spray)

Finally... your care and maintainance procedure should be:
Remove lenses from eyes
Clean the lenses with MP solution
Rinse with MP sol.
Disinfect with MP sol

the next day... remove the lenses from the case
insert straight into the eyes or...
rince with MP solution.

if this still irritates your eyes, then see an eyecare prof.

Try other cleaning agents if that irritates you. Ask your provider what cleaning agent will best suits you. There are many commercialized cleaning agents available in the market.

First of all you should not use saline to clean your lenses as they burn your eyes . It's always better to use the multipurpose soln to disinfect n clean your lenses , it does not hurt atall

use refresh tears eyedrops to clean the contact lenses if saline hurts .
