My contact prescription?!

Question: My contact prescription?
I've been going to the same eye doctor for about 4 years for my prescription for glasses and recently (1 weeks ago), my right eye changed and needed a stronger prescription. When I brought up that I would like to try out lenses, he tried on some on me and I noticed it had the glass prescription on it. I was fine and got a 3mo supply. I was curious because I always thought the prescriptions would be different but I forgot to bring it up and they were really busy so I was out the door before I could think of it.

Wearing them the first day was fine. The second day I had a very slight headache but I attributed it to the stronger prescription and my eyes adjusting. The third day the lenses were watery so I slipped them off. I like contacts a lot but I've been at home so I've just been wearing my glasses. From looking online, contact lenses being the same as the glass prescription is not usual (due to distance from eyes and glasses vs right on the eye, right?).

Should I bring this up and set up another meeting?

Thanks for reading!

Answers:

When the prescription is below +/- 4.00 and there is no astigmatism , it is normally the same for contacts and glasses.

At - 2.50 and - 2.25, contacts and glasses would be the same....that is correct.
