When I was little, i used to stare at the light bulb, is this possibly the reaso!
Question: When I was little, i used to stare at the light bulb, is this possibly the reason for my bad eye sight?
Answers:
Don't worry about it. Looking at the light didn't damage your eyes. It had nothing to do with needing glasses now.
First , if the light was too bright, your brain would have made you look away and you wouldn't have been able to keep your eyes open to look at it long enough to cause any damage.
Optician
You wouldve had pretty much instant blindness if it was too bright, coz of the increased light on the retina. Its more likely to happen if you stare up at the sun-burning the retina and causing irreversable blindness.
But yeah id go to a optometrist or get a referal to a opthamologist.
I doubt looking at the lightbulb messed up your eyes, if it was going to do something, it probably would have happened right away, not delaying several years. Nearsightedness is often (but not always) genetic; are there other people in your family who wear glasses?
Yes, absolutely you can hurt your eyes looking at an IR light. but not a regular lightbulb but if you feel you have damaged your eyes by doing this why not go see a doctor and tell him what you did as a child
