Why do I see these weird squiggly lines in my eyes?!

Question: Why do I see these weird squiggly lines in my eyes?
I'm a young teenager and sometimes when I look at the sky, or white board at school, are the computer... I see these really strange floaty things. They kind of look microscopic or something. Like a weird strand of bacteria. It's really odd. It doesn't happen all the time, but a lot. Usually if I blink a lot and move my eyes around, the squiggly thing will go away. My mom has the same thing and her doctor said it's from headaches or something. I've been looking up this 'floaty' condition on the internet for awhile and many people say it's from fluids in the eye?? I don't really understand that at all! I'm going to ask my mom for a check-up at the eye doctor soon though, but can anyone tell me ahead of time what exactly this is? Thanks.

Check it all out here. Pretty much everybody gets them from time to time.

What you are experiencing are called "floaters" and are caused by cellular debris within the vitreous fluid of the eye. The vitreous fluid is a jelly-like substance that fills the inside of the eye, and the "floaters" you are seeing are caused when debris within the vitreous fluid cast shadows upon the retina. They are benign and are rarely a cause for concern.
