Is it possible to focus different things with both eyes?!

Question: Is it possible to focus different things with both eyes?
I know that if I focus on something close, things far away get blurry, and vice versa. Is it possible for some people to focus one eye on one object, and focus the other eye on a different object?

Answers:

no one can focus one eye w/o focusing the other, b/c the nerves for "accommodation" or focusing are tied together. you must either focus both or unfocus both. no amount of "training" or practice can get around this.

yes some people accidentally have unequal refractive error and are already focused on 2 different distances, and others do this on purpose with contacts ("monovision")

but you cant focus one eye w/o focusing the other

If the person is made to be nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other they would quickly suspend binocular vision to stop the distracting double vision. In other words you could look up close with one eye and at distance with the other but not at the same time so you would end up switching back and forth between eyes.

Yes, stick out your tongue and tilt your head 45 degrees to the left. Focus on something green with your left eye and something blue with the other, you may get dizzy but that's normal.

Yes it requires practice. If you master this then maybe you can pass off this trait when you have kids.

The main thing that your looking at will be
clear but the things around it will always be blurry,
I think that's how it is for everyone
