Problem with left eye?!

Question: Problem with left eye?
For the past few days, my eye has been bothering me. It's only the bottom part of my left eye that's red and the lower eyelid is sore when I touch it. Sometimes it feels like there is something in my eye, but whenever I look, I can't find anything. My eye was kind of stuck together Friday morning and a bit yesterday, but when I woke up this morning, I didn't have that problem. My eye feels really swollen, but it looks like it's only a bit swollen. The skin under my eye and the outside of my lower eyelid, is red, a bit swollen and sore even if I don't touch it. I iced it once and a while yesterday and that helped relieve some of the pain I felt, but it was only temporary. I asked a pharmacist yesterday what they could recommend I try, before going to my doctor and she suggested eye drops for pink eye, but since the skin under my eye is also irritated, she didn't think it would help. I do wash my eyes every morning with Lid Care (I have blepharitis) and I use artificial tears eye drops after, cause they get really dry after. I'm thinking I should see a doctor, but I would like a general idea of what this could be caused by, before going, just so I kind of know what to expect. Thanks!

Answers:

My three assumptions would be conjunctivitis, commonly known as "pink eye". Sleep deprivation. Iron deficiency or anemia, which can cause problems including discoloration of the sclera.

Of course, being 13, these are just assumptions.

My brain.

You could be getting an infected gland at the lid margin like a stye, or you may have an inverted eye lash, or an embedded speck of dirt. If it hasn't started yet to clear up you best see a doctor.

It could be you have a stye but a few days is a bit long for that not to have gone away. As you have other problems I think you should get your eyes checked reasonably urgently.
