A question about prescription glasses?!

Question: A question about prescription glasses?
Hi, well i recently found out how bad my eye sight is and got a pair of glasses from Specsavers.
The thing is i'm on income support and didn't have to pay the full cost for the glasses. I've seen a pair on a website that look a bit trendier so do you know if i will have to pay the full price for them?

Really have no idea how the whole system works as to where you can purchase prescription glasses and what help you can get if you are on some sort of benefit.
Any help is appreciated, thanks

Answers:

Not sure how the NHS does this, as I'm in the US, but they probably have a rule that they only subsidize glasses every certain amount of time (like 1 pair/year, 1 pair/2 years, etc) and any "extra pairs" would be at your expense. Since you just bought glasses recently, I'm thinking you might have to wait a while before they will cover the next pair. I'm certain there is a listing of the rules somewhere that would tell if they would cover the purchase.

PS: Those frames seem kind of steep, you could probably find similar shaped frames for a lot less (unless you have to have "Prada" written on them). I would suggest trying some of the inexpensive on-line sites like www.zennioptical.com etc.
