Question: Do opticians keep your prescription details?
I thought they would have gave me the details with my glasses in case i want to buy some elsewhere and need the measurements. Do you think they will be able to send the info out to me?

They normally do both, give you one and keep one themselves. If you want a copy of your prescription, you should ask them for one. They probably just forgot.
when you have your eyes tested you can ask for the prescription and buy your glasses elsewhere.
