When can you get contacts?!
Question: When can you get contacts?
Please help!
Answers:
Well, assuming your prescription strength and astigmatism are within generally normal ranges (you'd know if they aren't), and you don't have other eye health issues that would prevent it, you could start wearing them soon. 12-13 is generally the age range that doctors start to okay contacts for adolescents - but obviously your parents are going to have a say here too. Contacts are expensive, and if you don't take care of them you could put your eye health at risk from scratches or infections. Your parents are going to want to know that you are responsible enough clean them regularly, not lose them, not sleep in them if you aren't supposed to, etc.
So - talk to your parents about it, and if they agree have them schedule an appointment with an eye doctor!
I was also really young when I started wearing glasses and about 12-13 when I got contacts.
yes, go see your optometrist and ask. They are the people who can give you sound medical advice for contacts.
