Sparkles in my vision?!

Question: Sparkles in my vision?
Hi!

So about five minutes ago, I was in the bathroom doing my hair and I saw a little sparkle out the corner of my eye. The room was suddenly filled with little moving sparkles, like a swarm of flying insects but...a swarm of flying sparkles. Haha, such a fantastic description. I have to admit, it looked pretty cool and I was staring at them for ages, but I guess its not, um, normal...

I have astigmatism (I spelled that wrong, didn't I?) in my left eye, if that's relevant, and my eye tests have been getting worse over a few years. Also (though I'm sure this has nothing to do with anything, I'd better throw it in) I have a broken wrist at the moment...though I have no idea how that would affect my vision, I guess its relevant.

These aren't floaters, they're definitely sparkles. It lasted for about 20 seconds. Google didn't help much, soo....any help? Thanks ^.^

Might be worth getting checked out, especially if your vision is getting worse. It could be a sign of something as serious as retinal detachment or something as simple as just straining your eyes for a few seconds. The fact that you've recently had a fall could also be a cause for concern (that is, if you bumped your head at all).

The exact same thing happens to me in the lead-up to a migraine -- the sparkles start off small, and then get bigger and bigger until they almost obscure most of my vision. I think it's called a Migraine Aura? Damn, I hate getting them, because I know I'm about to be rendered useless for the next few hours. Cursed migraines. But if you didn't develop a migraine afterwards, I dunno what it was :|

Yeah, I'm so helpful.

I know what your saying.it's not exactly a blood rush but something like a light headed unconsionce feeling as if your going to pass out.

It just happens. I have it every now and then. I think its cool. And I dont have astigmatism.

maybe some water got caught in your eyes whilst you were blow drying, or some how water got there..
