Can't get the contact Lens in at all?!
Question: Can't get the contact Lens in at all?
I CAN'T DO IT. Even practicing doesn't help, my eye just spazzes right as my finger near it. Looking away might help but then I can't see the Lens as I put it in. My eyelashes seem too long or slippery to hold my upper lid. My bottom lid is a cinch but the upper one is crucial. Should I go a day without curling my eyelashes to put the contact in? I am at my wits end on this one, I don't know what to do and I really, really want these contacts.
Answers:
First off, your eyelashes shouldn't have any affect at all on how or whether or not your contact lenses go in. Secondly, I had the same trouble. Of course your eyes are going to "spaz" when you first start using contacts! Just stay calm! Now here is what I do when I put in my contacts (for right handed people and it's easier in front of a mirror):
1. Place the contact on the tip of the pad of your pointer finger on your right hand (make sure your fingernails are cut short.
2. Use your middle finger on your right hand to pull down your bottom eyelid.
3. Use your left middle finger and place it on your eyelid, in between your eyebrow and your true eyelid.
4. Look in the mirror while you do this. Start moving you pointer finger with the contact lens on it, towards your eye, making sure it will surround your iris and not touch any part of your eyelid. If you look at the contact, your eye will "spaz" so look past it at the mirror. Place the contact gently on your iris.
5. The contact should take shape around your eye, and you should remove your fingers from your eyelids.
Hope this helps!
