Hi Index 1.67 and frame choice?!

Question: Hi Index 1.67 and frame choice?
Hey guys, this is my prescription:

R: -6.50
Cylinder: -0.75
Axis: 17

L: -6.50
Cylinder: -1.00
Axis: 172

I ordered a high index 1.67 lens, but I don't know which frame to buy to fit these high index lenses:

I don't want to have a frame that will make my lens look big.

Answers:

I don't think any of those are going to work very well for you, and you might want to try picking something else. Even with high index, at that prescription level your lenses are going to be kind of thick. It may not be enough to bother you, but if you want to hide it as much as possible, those frames are not the best.

Tips:
1 - The smaller the frames the better! Large frames will lead to lenses with thicker edges because of the way they're cut.
2 - Shape matters too. Square frames are going to have thicker edges than oval or squoval frames.
3 - Don't go rimless. First, this will just show off how thick the lenses are. Second, in order to mount lenses in these they have to cut a groove for a nylon string to go through, which makes them more susceptible to chips and HI lenses are not very chip resistant anyway.
4 - Plastic will be better than metal (since they're generally thicker and less of the lens will stick out).

You bought the lenses before you bought the frames? How does that work?! Anyway, you can e-mail details on a frame that you want to info@replacementlensexpress.com and they can get you a price quote. They are pretty competitive and try to beat everyone else's prices. If you already have the lenses, they will grind them down to fit the new frames for you.

Take a look at the website and browse around, but when you're ready to buy, I'd say to contact their sales staff - info@replacementlensexpress.com. It's just easier that way and they usually write back right away.

It's a great little optical shop based out of Connecticut and they make everything in-house. Lots of these other online companies outsource overseas, and in these cases the quality really suffers.
