Could I buy a pair of sunglasses and replace the lens with prescription lenses?!

Question: Could I buy a pair of sunglasses and replace the lens with prescription lenses?
I have these Gucci sunglasses and I'm wondering if I could have the lenses popped out
and replaced with prescription lenses. If so, how much would that cost me?

Answers:

It's going to depend on the frame - some can take prescription lenses and some can not (depending on the quality of material and whether or not the plastic is pliable enough to get thicker lenses in without damaging them) . You probably need to take them to an optical shop and have them looked at to be 100% sure.

As far as the cost? It should be the same as it would be to put lenses in a frame you bought from them (they won't charge extra b/c it's an outside frame). So that would be in the $100-$300+ range depending on whether you get plain plastic, polycarbonate, or high index and what other options you add on.

If the frames have screws holding them together, probably. If the frames have rivets, or the lenses are glued in, probably not. I don't know how much it would cost.
