Should I wear my glasses constantly?!

Question: Should I wear my glasses constantly?
Okay, so I just got my glasses. It's my first time. My power is -1.25 in the right eye and -1.50 in the left one. I wanted to ask whether I should wear my glasses all the time or should i go without them when reading, sketching , etc.
Thanks.

Answers:

Wearing or not wearing your glasses doesn't make your eyes better or worse in the long term. Therefore the rule is that you wear your glasses when having the best vision helps and you will have to work that out for yourself. As a rough guide thats a pretty mild perscription so though you may get advantages from the on screens, reading/sketching you might find that when playing sports teh disadvantages of glasses ( getting knocked off, steaming up) or outside in the rain outweighs the advantages. You may also find that as you get used to better vision you wear your glasses more as being without the best vision becomes more annoying. Experiment adn see - if you want the vision but the disadvantages are irritating you you might want to look at contacts.

You don't HAVE to wear them all the time, it won't hurt your eyes. If you are comfortable reading without them, go ahead. If you decide to wear your glasses intermittently, be carefull you don't forget/lose them, leave them somewhere where the dog or little kids get at them, or sit on them, etc. Some people prefer to just put them on and leave them there, do which ever you prefer.

No. You shouldn't let your eyes get used to your glasses. I think it's better for you to just wear them when you need them because the power is just -1.25 and -1.50. However, it would be better if you wear them when you're watching TV or using the computer, even if you can see clearly without them.

No, only when you really need them because glasses eventually weaken you sight and you'll need stronger ones.
