Is it possible someone can fake having astigmatism at an eye check up?!

Question: Is it possible someone can fake having astigmatism at an eye check up?
Answers:

astigmatism is about the shape of the eye, so the doctor can see it just by looking at your eyes (usually when they use the scary machine things), so there is really nothing you can do about it. why would you want to anyway though.. if you received the incorrect prescription it could permanently damage your eyes!

Not really. The eye doctors use a system of switching lenses of VERY close angle and even diopter and then ask you subjectively which is 'better'.. when they have an idea objectively which one should be. If you give the incorrect answers at random it is going to be obvious something is very wrong. Their first thought isn't likely to be "this person is faking this!".. because most people don't do that. Though they will be wondering why you are kicking out things in such a random way without much logic to it.

Not sure what ones reason would be for doing this other than to obtain glasses. This would not result in glasses unless of course you said oh , oh this looks much better etc. When in reality your vision was blurred.

If you are after glasses, no one has perfectly round eyes.. everyone has some degree of astigmatism.. really. So while it isn't likely enough to be bothering you, you could still technically get some glasses to go along with your low level of astigmatism. Though generally anything under .25D isn't prescribed, and even a quarter diopter usually doesn't bother people.

So I guess technically 'yet' if you know what your doing, but the general phoropter technique employed would negate it.

Well somebody could try but, usually, they are pretty good at finding out when people are faking. If you want glasses as a sort of fashion accessory, you can get fake glasses on-line, or in some stores, for just a few $. (Note these are NOT the same as reading glasses!).

It is impossible to fake an astigmatism. Doctor's offices has machines to tell if you have an astigmatism without you saying anything. Why would you want to fake it?

you can lie when you read the eye things/when he or she asks you, which is better: one or two?

No.
