Eye prescription: -6.0.?!

Question: Eye prescription: -6.0.?
Ok, I know that my eye degree is 650. On my contacts box, it says -6.0. I was wondering how this thing worked. Shouldn't it be -6.5? Or would that be 700 degrees?

Note: I can see perfectly with the -6.0 contact. I know I have bad vision T.T

Answers:

- 6.50 is your glasses prescription, but that equals - 6.00 for contacts because the lens is closer to your eye than the lenses in glasses are.

In a concave lens of that power, it increases the effective power when you move it 10 mm closer to your eye, so the contacts are -.50 weaker to compensate , and give the same power as a - 6.50 farther away.

Is the prescription for both eyes or just one?

It could be just 1 eye is -6.0.

My eyesight is (L: -6.25, R: -6.75)

You are near sighted and to be legally blind you would have to be -15 so don't worry about stuff, some people have 3 different lenses as they age so forget about stuff
