This is not really a question but a comment.?!

Question: This is not really a question but a comment.?
When people ask for medical advice about their eyes, please don't tell them to ask their Optician. Opticians only make the glasses from the prescription given by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. Opticians are not doctors and are not medically qualified to give medical advice or answers like an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist could. Also, if you are the one asking the question, please don't say your optician told you this or that. Your appointment was with an Optometrist/Ophthalmologist and not an Optician. Please use the correct term. Thanks!

Answers:

Depends where they are...what we call an optometrist in North America is called an optician in the UK , so people in the UK are correct when they say their exam was done by an optician.

The three O's have been a source of confusion for the public for many years and probably won't change any time soon.

Optician
