Which brand of contacts would you recommend?!

Question: Which brand of contacts would you recommend?
which ones the best and why?

Answers:

There are LOTS of different brands out there available! There are daily disposable contact lenses, lenses you dispose of after 2 weeks, or those that you dispose of after a month. All of them can be safely worn and work well for many people. What kind works best for you will depend on your prescription and how you would like to wear the lenses (if you want to wear them only a few days a week while exercising vs 24/7 and use glasses only in the evenings before bed). My advice is to visit your optometrist and let them know how you'd like to wear your contact lenses. They will be able to examine your eyes, discuss the different lens options, and determine which lenses you will be able to wear comfortably and safely!

I'm an optometry student

Recommending the best contact lens brand is like recommending the best SUIT brand. There is no such thing.. only what's best FOR YOU - for your eyes, your power, your curvature, your oxygen breathability, your tear quality etc.

It's a customised thing, hence you need the guidance of an ECP to help fit and monitor your eyes whilst wearing them.

Ferrari make nice cars.. but if you're only 4ft tall, and live on a small island, then Ferrari is a waste of $$ for you right?

My favorite were Ciba Std lenses. They were extended wear and very comfortable. Its an older brand though. For the past 3 years I have worn Acuvue Advanced and have enjoyed the fit. I tried acuvue 2 and didn't like the way they felt. Also I tried Acuvue Oasys and hated them. Even tough they were supposed to be the most comfortable lens available. But that's just my eyes. There are TONS of brands out there. Your Doctor will help you by determining the type of lens to start with.

Baush&Lomb - the kind you change monthly! Work really great!
