Should I get the contact lenses that you can leave in your eyes for 30 days?!

Question: Should I get the contact lenses that you can leave in your eyes for 30 days?
I have normal contact lenses but i dont have time to put them in every morning. I was thinking of getting the contacts you leave in your eyes for a month. Are the ones you can leave in your eyes for 30 days bad for your eyes? will they cause any long term damage?

Answers:

You should ask your optometrist if they would work for you. I have been wearing this kind for 4 years now. At first I wore them for 30 days straight. Now I take them out once I week. I love them and they are SUPER comfortable. You have to make sure that they will work for you though.

That particular kind allows more oxygen to get to your eyes so that it is a little safer. Some optometrists do ever thing that wearing them overnight is okay and won't approve it.

The 30 day lenses are meant to be worn 30 times (each about an eight hour period) before you dispose of them, NOT overnight wear of 30 days. You should take your contacts out at night so your eyes can "breathe". If you wear them overnight for 30 days, you are more likely to develop an infection.

You'll want to talk to your optometrist when you go in for your annual eye exam, and see if he/she will let you try the monthly contacts and see if you like them. They do tend to be less expensive in the long run since you don't have to buy as many boxes to get a year supply.
