are contacts safe to wear?!

Question: Are contacts safe to wear?
are there any risks? are they worth it?

i wear glasses when i drive and im thinking because i always drive i should get some contacts?

Answers:

Soft contacts (the ones I wear) are perfectly safe so long as you handle them properly. I suppose there are risks of scratching your eye accidentally or getting something between the contact and the eyeball, but I've never had any problems with them.

I definitely think they're worth it. Where glasses put half an inch between your eyes and the lens, which can distort perception by a little bit, the contact is the lens (hence the name) and there is no perception distortion. I find them extremely comfortable and easy to manage.

However, if you're hoping to drive with contacts when you're used to glasses, it might get a bit disorienting, so make sure you are comfortable with the feel of contact lenses before you jump right on in. It's not a big difference, but it can be noticeable. Some people have problems getting used to inserting contacts, but once you have enough practice it isn't a big deal at all.

I've worn contacts for years.

They are definitely safe to wear, I have them in a lot of the time. However, for the first time I strongly suggest to go to a qualified contact lens optician, then the contact lenses will fit your eyes and therefore be more comfortable to wear. You may find it difficult at first to put in, but after a while you will find it very easy and wonder what you would do without them. Also, if you have reusables, make sure you always keep them very clean to prevent dust or anything else getting into your eyes. Good luck :)

past experience

my dad has been wearing her contacts for 20+ years now and seems to be no problem at all.

if you look better without glasses, or if you don't like to carry your glasses around whenever you go then you should consider contacts, just be sure you follow the instructions for cleaniness and take them off every night before you go to bed.

Contacts are fine to wear. It's best to have prescribed contacts because those are well-fitted to help your eyesight.

I've worn contacts before.

yeah they're mostly alright. but ask your optometrist first.
I wear hard lense because apparently I don't have enough tears in my eyes, or in other words they are too dry.. but most people are okay with soft lense.

I have been wearing contacts since the seventh grade there is a chance of getting pink eye if you don't take proper care of your contacts and the case
