3d movies and the 3ds both look like 2d to me. Why is this?!

Question: 3d movies and the 3ds both look like 2d to me. Why is this?
I don't get headaches or anything when looking at 3d stuff but during 3d movies I always have to ask my boyfriend when the 3d part will happen. Some things pop out but rarely do I see a difference in 2d and 3d. My boyfriend got a 3ds and was showing me it and I didn't see anything different and the 3d effects were turned all the way up. I looked it up and maybe I'm stereoblind? I had eye surgeries when I was like 6 for amplyopic stabismis. I'm sure I probably spelled that wrong. Occasionally I have a lazy eye but usually it isn't noticeable and I don't really have vision problems.

Answers:

You answered your own question. And it's amblyopic strabismus - pretty darn good spelling for a non-professional! Your eyes don't work well together. They probably don't work together at all, and so yes, you are stereoblind. Could you fix it? Well, I know an optometrist who used to practice in Texas who could probably help you but it would take a lot of time and money and commitment, and I don't know if he is even still practicing. He had a special machine they don't even make anymore. But I don't see the point. So you can't see 3D. You probably function just fine, yes? You are certainly not alone. If someone asks how come you can't see 3D, you just say, "my eyes don't work together."
