What can I do for my eyes so they won't get worse?!

Question: What can I do for my eyes so they won't get worse?
I have a slight astigmatism in right eye. The doctor said I should be fine because it's like one eye is 15/20 and the other is 20/20. I work at a computer for most of the day with my schooling though and when I'm at the computer for long periods of time I notice a slight blur in my right eye. My eyes also get dry even though I blink when I'm at the computer for too long. I also find that eventually my eyes hurt, maybe strain?

So, what can I do?

Answers:

If that is your uncorrected visual acuity, then your eyesight is great. Just be sure to blink more and take a few breaks. Many have a tendency to stare at the screen and not blink enough to keep the eye hydrated properly, drying out the cornea. This can cause a blur and irritate the eyes over the course of the day. You can also get artificial tears that you can use throughout the day just to keep your eyes fresh. Ask your eye doctor what they might recommend.

It is likely that your vision will remain the same at this point, but once you approach age 40, you will generally need reading glasses, which is a normal part of aging.

I also have an astigmatism in one of my eyes and am always finding them going dry. My optician recommended that I use Blink Eye Drops when ever I feel my eyes getting dry and it has really helped. Below is two links, one is for the Blink Eye Drops for if you wear contacts, and the other is Blink Eye Drops for if you don't wear contacts. Hope this helps you.

Eat lots of carrots and don't strain your eyes by staring at a computer or reading in the dark. Get plenty of sleep each night and stay hydrated.
