What does it mean when a person has light blue Sclera?!

Question: What does it mean when a person has light blue Sclera?
.. that is, the white part of the eye surrounding the eye ball, which is normally white.

I have brown eyes and I've noticed that my Sclera is light blue.. very light blue. I noticed this when I was looking in the mirror and so I compared my sclera with a white object, and it is light blue.

Is it common for people to have light blue instead of white, and what can it possibly mean?

Answers:

From what I know the sclera has collagen in it. Now unless you got some blue food die in there I don't know. Maybe it's a chemical reaction. Or you have a mutation that is expressed as a colour in your sclera. All these I think are very unlikely. I didn't know much about the eye, but I am doing year 12 biology.

Wikipedia says it's an underlying pigment.

Then there is of course smurfitis...
