i'm looking for eye drops for daily use. which brand works the best? are there any websites with helpful info on eye drops? answers are appreciated.

Everyone has their own preferences on the best brands...sometimes it's just trial and error to find the one you like best.
DO NOT USE VISINE OR CLEAR EYES ON A DAILY BASIS. I won't recopy the link to Princeidoc's answer that browneyedgirl has in her answer....but those are one of the worst you can use.
MY personal preference is Refresh Plus. It is a preservative free artificial tear that comes in single use vials. A box of 70 vials is about $20. I'm just super sensitive to preservatives...always have been...and these work great for me.
I would suggest visiting the manufacturer's websites for information on their products...Bausch & Lomb, Allergan, GenTeal, and Systane are the main artificial tears that my ophthalmologists in the clinic recommend for patients to try.
