I want to get contact lenses.. Are they worth it?!

Question:

I want to get contact lenses.. Are they worth it?

My mom doesn't want me to get contacts, but I am 18 years old and I want them. I have been wearing really thick glasses since I was three and I just hate wearing them. Not to mention that I can't do certain things in them (like play piano) because they really limit my peripheral vision. So are contacts any good? Are they hard to clean and maintain? I sorta have problems touching my eyeballs but I think it is something I can get used to. What should I do?

Answers:

Contacts are totally worth it. For instance when you are on roller coasters, glasses are a nuisance because they keep shifting positions like when you go upside down and when you are swimming because you cant see anything because your glasses are off, or they have all this water in them so you couldn't see a thing if you tried.

You will get used to putting your contacts in. After awhile it becomes second nature and you wont think about it. They feel really comfortable, and it feels like you aren't wearing anything and its your normal vision, just crystal clear.

Contacts can also lead to blindness or eye infections IF you dint take care of them properly. ALWAYS wash your hands really well, and dry them thoroughly, making sure that there isn't any lint on your fingers (this will irritate your eye because it might get caught under the contact and rub against your eyeball which isn't a pleasant feeling). If you drop your contacts on the floor or even the sink, rinse it out thoroughly with solution. Don't sleep with your contacts on, and don't open your eyes in water- especially in the pool because of all of the chemicals. Never ever store your contacts in tap water, and if they have a rip, tear, or part of the rim is torn, even a tiny one, throw them away and don't wear them.

This may sound like also, but it is really easy once you get the gist of things. Good luck!
