No...this one be the million and 3rd time I've answered this question!!!

Wearing glasses and/or contacts does not make your eyes worse!!!! People need glasses because of the way their eyes are shaped (either too long, or too short, or an irregularly shaped cornea) Wearing glasses or contacts has no effect on the shape of your eye, which is causing your refractive error. All the lenses do is bend the light to compensate for what is being lost due to the shape of your eye.

When you you're not wearing glasses when you need to wear glasses, your eyes are straining to focus on objects that you cannot see clearly. When you put your glasses on, your eyes are able to relax and focus without having to strain. Once you've had the glasses on for a time, and then take them off, things seem blurry by comparison because while you had them on, your eyes didn't have to strain and struggle to focus. It is NOT because the glasses are making your eyes worse. Wearing glasses on your face cannot reshape your eyeball to make your vision worse...neither can contacts. And its not that you get dependent on your glasses. Its more like your eyes and your brain PREFER to be able to see clearly without having to strain...imagine that!! Your eyes and brain LIKE to see CLEARLY...who would have ever guessed???!!!!!

That website you found, and I think I know which one you're talking about is full of bologna. Forcing your eyes to focus on something when they physically CANNOT, is NOT going to make your eyes better. Visual therapy can be helpful when its a problem caused by a misalignment of the eyes such as strabismus and they employ patching techniques for children diagnosed with amblyopia, but when a person has a refractive error because of astigmatism (where the cornea is shaped more like a football, when its supposed to be shaped like a basketball) or because of the eye being to long or short (which is what caused near and farsightedness) all the visual training exercises in the world cannot change the anatomy of the person's eye.

If you need glasses, and you don't wear them, your eyes aren't going to get worse. Your eyes will change on their on schedule, whether you wear the glasses or not. Some people's change faster than others, some people's change slower. And still some people's seem to hardly ever change at all and they are lucky enough to be able to go 5 years or more without needing a change. The glasses have no effect on the rate at which your eyesight deteriorates.

Here's what WILL happen when you wear your glasses - You'll be able to see clearly. Without straining. Without headaches, Without squinting.
