Eye pressure and smoking weed?
i heard that smoking weed lowers the eye pressure after surrgery like LASIK, anyone knows facts about that?
Answers:
No. They used to use medicinal marijuana to treat certain forms of glaucoma, but I think that any theories surrounding the medicinal applications of marijuana have been debunked and this has been outlawed by most, if not ALL 50 states.
I have never heard of LASIK patients having elevated IOP after surgery. I worked with post-op LASIK patients when I worked in an Ophthalmologist office and never really heard of elevated IOP as being a post-op concern for patients, although, I'm sure its entirely possible that intra-ocular pressure could rise slightly after surgery. But even if that was the case, marijuana would NOT be used to treat it...
I'll give ya a star and see if "Princeidoc" sees this and comments...he'd be the one to ask.
