I am 27. The last time I saw an eye doctor I was 15 and he told me I was a litt!

Question:

I am 27. The last time I saw an eye doctor I was 15 and he told me I was a little nearsighted.?

My family, all these years, have just assumed I have perfect 20/20 eyesight. I know better, however. I am having trouble reading small print and street signs until I get right up to them. I want to tell them that I need to see an eye doctor again that I am having trouble seeing but I don't know how to go about doing that. It's not that I'm really afraid, it's that I don't want them to know that I am now like all of them. They all wear glasses. I'm just having trouble finding the right way to bring that up. Can any of you out there offer suggestions? I also squint more than I used to. And when I was in college, I always had trouble seeing the board without squinting really hard and, even then, it didn't really help. It just made my eyes sore.

Answers:

Hello,Don't be afraid to tell this news to your family, 'cause if you are nearsighted and you don't wear glasses, your eyesight will get worse, and it will affect your study and the quality of your life.
