I am looking at getting contact lenses, should I get daily wear or the long term!

Question:

I am looking at getting contact lenses, should I get daily wear or the long term kind (I think a month)?

Answers:

This is a decision best discussed with your optometrist. In our office, the doctor likes to prescribe lenses that are approved for overnight wear, but recommends wearing them daily wear. This allows the cornea to receive the highest amount of oxygen when you're wearing. the vast majority of contact-related problems I've seen come to our office have been related to extended wear. Extended wear contaqcts can cause corneal insult even if worn as instructed. If it were my eye, I'd go for a highly-permeable lens worn daily wear.
