I am confused about contact lenses?!

Question:

I am confused about contact lenses?

How old do you have to be to get contacts? (Not the color change kind) and how often do you have to change them? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Or do you not change into new ones at all?

Answers:

There is no particular age were someone should decide to begin to wear contacts, but I'd suggest from the age of 13 as you need to be quite responsible when having contact lenses. Contacts can be the cause of major eye infections so you need to be mature enough to take proper care for them. They need to be stored well and the container cleansed well, plus the storage solution has to be changed every 6months from opening.
As regard how often lenses need to be changed, well, it depends on what brand you buy. Some have to be changed monthly, some weekly and some daily. If you're young in age i.e. 12 to 16years, I'd suggest you buy the daily lenses, were you wear and dispose of at the end of the day, as they are the safest of lenses.
However, if you are astigmatic (an eye condition) you have to get permanent ones or order special monthly lenses.

Before buying anything, go to you optician for advice.

Take care!!!
