Are Silhouette model 8584 sunglasses Rxable?!

Question:

Are Silhouette model 8584 sunglasses Rxable?

Why are some frames not Rxable like the Silhouette 8584? Are Silhouette 8608 sunglasses Rxable? I called a place to see if they were Rxable and they told me they are. But then I went to a website and they say they are not (8584). Who is right? Rxable is able to use prescription lenses on sunglasses I guess. My vision measurement is like minus 2.5 and am myopic. I know this should be a question but I need some glasses. I am using construction glasses and everyone laughs at me.

Yes I would like to use it for prescription glasses with clear lenses, no sunglass lenses colors.I was not told yet by the manufacturer but I have seen some websites that say yes(eyeglasses.com) and some that say no(eyefine.com) Now when a website says yes do they mean getting a sunglasses lens in a prescription or getting a clear lens with prescription. I want the latter. Its just that I have a very broad bridge and I think this model fits me well, one of the very few. Thanks

Answers:

Are you trying to use the sunglasses as regular glasses or as prescription sunglasses? If you are looking for regular glasses, I recommend choosing from regular glasses. Usually, you can look at a pair of glasses and tell if you can Rx them. I don't know what these Silhouettes look like, but if the manufacturer says they are not Rxable, I would believe them. If it has very large lenses, a severe wrap around, and/or no way to remove and install lenses, it can't/shouldn't be used. You may be able to find an optical store that would do it, but they won't warranty it, and if something happens to the lenses, it will be a waste of your money.
