First you have started the right thing you have a computer,you can buy a mic and other equipment along with a cd burner and record you own but its kinda hard you will need help,but you can do your own music send it to different lables and get them to pick you up,but you have to catch their ears within about 10sec.Good luck.Do you have a male friend who knos about computers what state are you in,I have a mini studio that you can record here but if your far away i can't help you unless your willing to travel,anyway my e-mail is grenadas_finest_andrew_@ yahoo.com.
find a producer.
You need to promote yourself. Write some songs and record a CD at a small place and start selling them. Find someone who can book you places that you can sing.
