Disturbing Question?!

Question: *This is a very graphic and disturbing question, if you have recently lost a child or had an abortion or are just are very sensitive, PLEASE stop reading now.*

I've seen pictures of babies aborted that are around 2 or 3 months. Anyway, they look like tiny babies. I was wondering if someone has a miscarriage in their 3rd month...does the baby come out looking like that? Does it come out in pieces? Does the woman have to do anything special to get the baby out?

Thank you for reading, I tried to be as respectful as I could.

If you have a miscarriage, the baby usually comes out whole. Sometimes the mother's body expels the baby on its own, sometimes she needs help. The doctor will often do a D & C which cleans any tissue out so you don't get an infection (by tissue i mean left over placenta and blood clots, tho unfortunately, sometimes the deceased child is removed this way). i could tell you were trying to be respectful. I tried to be, too.

When my sister miscarriaged (Really early in pegnancy) it came out like bean shaped

My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and I was around 11wks pregnant. The ob/gyn had said that even though I was 11wks, the fetal growth was only at 7wks, so the baby had stopped growing. I remember having to go to the hospital that night because of the full blown miscarriage and the doctor taking out "remains". I never did get to see it. There was a lot of blood though. I think the baby itself was all together, but still tissue and other things had to be removed.

Yes. The baby comes out looking like a baby. If the baby does not spontaneously abort, the doctors have to do an operation called a D&C, where they go through the vagina, into the uterus and scrape everything out.

i've had two miscarriages, and both times i had to have a D&C performed by my doc at the hospital. So... i guess i'm no help to your question, i don't know what they look like b/c i was under anesthesia.
