Shaving pubic hair.?!

Question: I've been shaving my pubic hair for a while. There are many positives to doing so. It seems cleaner, more comfortable, sex is easier and better, but I am wondering why do we have pubic hair...what are the benefits? Are there any health reasons that you need to keep it....what's the point of it??

Pubic hair is like eyelashes for your vagina. I know that sounds gross and weird but it's true. Pubic hair keeps dirt away from your openings, just like eyelashes keep dirt out of your eyes. Pubic hair is like natures little security fence. It is supposed to keep out what isn't supposed to be there.

Although I don't think there is anything wrong with shaving.

Good Luck in all you do

No there's no health reasons for it. I'm not sure why we have it! I think it's gross!

they protect u from differ deseases somtimes even though theres no garantee so shaving is fine and normal loll keep it up

I think our more primative forebears had it there to keep those places warmer and protected. That's what I read a long time ago, so I could be wrong. It makes sense to me though

Personally, I don't know why it's there, but I DO KNOW why it's curley. So nobody pokes their eyes out.

It's so gross I can't bring myself to shave it. Ick

no health reasons what so ever.

It's our body's way to try to keep germs out, kind of like eyelashes protecting our eyes. Of course it is not 100% or really not that necessary, especially because we don't live in caves anymore. As for keeping it or removing it, it's a personal preferance. I think it's kind of annoying to keep up, but that outweighs my distaste for it. I think it is uncomfortable and unattractive, so I remove it. Not everyone agrees.

Helps to prevent infections and germs getting into the vagina.

...good question...
...science tells us pubic hair has several purposes...

...first, pubic hair is a result of our development thru puberty that indicates we are sexually developed enough for reproduction (sex)...like a billboard that says "hey!, look at me!"...
...also, our hair (no matter where) helps to protect certain parts of our body, regulate body temperature and in the case of our pubes it catches our body scent (called phermones) that is produced to attract others...of course this scent can also repel others if we dont shower or have good hygiene...

...general body hair...like the heavy hair on our head or lighter hair on extremes & torso are genetic left-overs from our ancestors who had hair covering their entire bodies...

...shaving now makes it easier for us for hygiene and for other sensual reasons...

You have hair on the areas of your body where you loose the most heat - head, armpits, groin. Dress warmly enough, and there is no reason to keep hair on any of these areas if you don't like it.

good thing u started to shave...pubic hair is gross!

pubic hair keeps bacteria from infecting your vagina, and it blocks odors
