Well, before you leave for school take something for the cramping; motrin, midal or pamprin. Make sure you have your little black pouch to hide your stuff of goodies to include, pads, change of underwear, baby wipes, and your pain medicine. You can also keep a change of pants in your locker. You can put this in your purse or your booksac. I know you are not suppose to take pills at school but who has time to call mom or dad from work or home to come give one to you? Just make sure you ask your mom or dad if it is ok and they advise you on when and how to take them, especially without getting caught! If you are afraid of accidents make sure you change your pads often between class periods. Get a calendar and mark the first day you start your period and mark when you end, to know how long it last. Next count 26-30 days from your START date, not the end date to find out when your next period will begin. Try to keep track of this because it will become regular. It will take about 6 mos for you to know when your period will begin and end. One week before it starts stop eating alot of sugar foods, candy, and pop because they increase your cramps. As far as people asking why you carry a purse, you are a young lady and that's what ladies do and it's none of there business what's in it. Good Luck!!!!!!

take midol, start carrying a purse all the time so its not unusal or just put in a tampon and a pad in the mornings

yea...

Same here. I'm always self conscious that my tampon will leak.
Try carrying your pads/tampons in your pocket. Use a pad and a tampon for extra coverage.
Cramps shouldn't hurt too bad. Most girls only get slight pains.

Well, when you go to the bathroom, slip a pad up your sleeve or in the waist band of your pocket when no one is looking. Take ibrprofin with you to school, and take those every 6 hours.

it`s not that hard but don`t wear white pant while ur on, let ppl think w/e they want u can`t stop there thoughts,if u get cramps take a midol or something 2-skool!

if u need anymore help e-mail me

Every girl thinks about this when they first start, they'll all be too worried about their own periods to question why you have a purse, and older girls will completely understand, no girl would tease a younger one when they went through exactly the same

You won't bleed too much, as long as you change every break time

Carry a little Midol with you in case you have cramps. You could put the pad in a jacket pocket so you wouldn't have to carry a purse (also good to wrap around your waist if there is a leak). And, about the purse, just say you like carrying one for your stuff, and if they ask why you take it to the bathroom, just say that you don't want boys snooping through your things.

we all know that feeling as women.U dont nessesarily need a purse.Put ur sanintary products in a folder that has pockets. and keep extra clothes in a locker.just in case of a leak. And on ur period even when its not cold outside have a little jacket on hand that u can tie around ur waist in case of an emergency.

You will need to visit the restroom a little more often. Don't worry what people say, when you reach my age it becomes a belly rolling joke and we all laugh! You may get cramps but one of the best things that I have always done is to eat bananas before and during my period. The nutrients in bananas seem to make cramping less.

Take advil migraine and wear sweatpants :) keep yourself hydrated and active, the more active you are the less your cramps will be. Wear a thin panty liner that way if you do leak a tad you'll be protected...and if you can feel your tampon going for a little ride, just excuse yourself and fix it. Don't you have a backpack for school...have a designated pocket for all your period stuff or put it in a ziploc bag if you don't have pockets in your bag

Carry a small purse and tell people, it's the style. You will probably set a trend. Wear a tampon (if you can) and wear a panty liner, if your heavy and afraid. If not just wear a pad and change it often. Also change your tampon often. I was afraid of bleeding too much as well but after 13 years of a period, you learn you really don't bleed that much through clothes if you change your products. Cramps- use a heating pad or go get the heating pads from walmart (or another drugstore) they are called therma care and work wonders and you cant tell if your wearing them. Also, take IB profen or Alive. I find that midol and pamprin do not work that well for me but they are good options. Good luck, you will be fine.

If you are afraid of bleeding too much and it going through your clothes wear a tampon and a pad. If you don't feel comfrontable with using a tampon just change your pad between classes. Wear dark pant it shows less if you wear dark colors. Carry a purse everyday even when you are not on your period and then they won't know tell them that you just feel like it or that it make you feel more grown up. If you don't want to carry a purse put some pad and tampons in your locker and then you won't have to have a purse or put them in you backpack or gym bag. If you go to the office and ask of advil or mortin or something like that then they would call your guardian and ask if it is alright then they would give it to you. It is nothing to be afraid of it happens to every women at some time in their life.

Don't worry! That is totally normal. You aren't the first or last girl to have her period, get cramps, bleed too much, etc.

Well, if you bleed to much you could always use the overnight ones. They are longer and thicker. And you don't necessarily need a purse, just put it in a little pocket or something. And it's normal for girls to have purses! If you get cramps, the best thing to do is eat healthy. Do exercise also. If you can! Eat fruits and vegetables and drink a LOT of water. This should help cramping. It's okay-what happens to you is totally normal.

Good Luck! Hope it helped

First off ...its ok all woman feel insecure during their periods especially if they are in school. Take extra precautions , carry midol with you or some form of pain relief, check your self every once in awhile to make sure your not leaking. And if you start in school tell a teacher or councilor and i am sure they will call you mom and give you what ever you need

Try taking some advil or aleve in the morning before going to school if you have cramps, and maybe keep some in your pocket and take another during lunch. Also, as for the bleeding, if you buy the large pads with the wings, they should last you all through the school day, since they are so thick. They might seem large and uncomfortable, but you'll get used to wearing them after a bit. That's what I usually do whenever I'm on my period when I go to school (I'm 14). Hope this helps you!

dont feel nervous when people ask you about the purse. i think you should be upfront. say that you have a period. it is nornal. all girls will soon have periods and guys will know about it sooner or later.

1ST of all wear two pairs of underpants! And keep a sweatshirt handy, so when its time to change tampon/pad you can just stick it in the pocket!
2ND of all check on your tampon/pad at recess or lunch break
3RD carry extra undies, pants, sweatshirt and pads/tampons

Tell them your purse is very nifty! It carries your cellphone! and also say its the cutest purse in the whole world and you want to show it off!!
or you could simply say "Why do you care?" or "Why do you want to know so badly?"

And for the cramps! MIDOL! Its really really good! i keep some in my purse aswell

Being 12, if you are still in elementary school, talk to your teacher and she will probably allow you to go up to the nurse when you need to take care of business. If you're in middle school already, you probably carry your back pack most of the time anyway. Just take it with you in the bathroom.
