Wanting to use Tampons Womens help?!

Question: Girl or women have any of asked your doctor about tampons? If so, if you don't mind telling me. What did you say and what did he/she say in response? I want to ask my doctor her opinion on them and if she would recommend them, but I'm nervous. Any advice on what to say or anything?

It can be very nerve-wracking to ask your doctor about private things like this, but don't worry! Your doctor probably hears questions about tampons every day, so it's nothing new to her. All you need to do is ask something simple: "What do you think about tampons?" or "Can I use tampons?" or something like that. You'll probably come out of there knowing more about tampons then you ever wanted to.

You don't need a doctor's permission to use tampons, but if you're feeling nervous (many girls do the first time), talking it over with a doctor is a great idea. It will help put your mind at ease, and that's important.

You dont need to ask a doctor?

Just use em.

just ask her, but if your afraid to ask her then tampons arent what you should be using

They are on the market because doctors have approved them already.

there is nothing wrong with tampons.People have been using them for like 40years (i think they were developed in the 60's or something... or maybe that was the pill... anyway...) The doc would prob reccommend it. Its not really something that u need to see a doc about. All she would say is beware of toxic shock syndrome. Which is wen u leave the tampon in for too long. I think the max time is 6 hrs. But 6hrs is too long at the start of the period anyway.

I never discussed this with my Dr. I chose a brand and stuck with it. If you want to talk to your Dr about it, go ahead. Just tell him/her that they interest you and you want to know what his professional opinion is. Mind you, it is only an opinion and he/she is only one person......

Eventually, you must decide for yourself.... I personally don't like the plastic and I hate the OB's...for obvious reasons. I've always stuck to Tampax Tampons. Always be aware of the TSS warnings inside the box. Toxic Shock is serious and can be deadly. So using tampons means being responsible: change them frequently.

doctors are paid, not being mean, to be kind. if you know your doctor well then you'll be ok, most doctors will answer any question you might have. just be honest and ask all the questions that you think or want to ask!
you dont need to ask to use tampons, they're sold in supermarkets. if your concious on which size, just try them all out and think about your body size. i'm 70kg and like 165 cm, i use a regular. it also depends on your flow (how much period)
PEACE!

If you are a virgin, they may hurt at first. Use the smallest size possible, as tampons can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. Change them every time you use the restroom, or every four hours. There are instructions on how to insert them inside the package. You might want to start with plastic applicators at first because they are easier to put in.

There is also a product on the market that is much better than tampons, called Instead. They are flexible cups that you insert. They stay in all day and do not cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. They take a little practice and getting use to, but once you get past that, you will never want to use tampons again.

Other than that, don't be embarrassed to ask your doctor. I am sure your doctor has seen and heard a lot worse. That's what she is there for. You may find once you get past your shyness, you will feel relieved for coming out and asking the question and she might have some really helpful information for you.
