What's a tampon?
A tampon comes in a tube made of cardboard or plastic. The outer tube has 2 parts, one slides into the other, resulting in a tube half as long. Inside one of the tubes is a wad of cotton type material rolled into a tube shape. When a girl inserts this into her vagina, she pushes the outer half over the other. This pushes the cotton wad deep into the vagina. The applicator is them removed from her body, this leaves the cotton wad behind to absorb the menstrual flow. When the wad becomes saturated, or sometimes at every bathroom trip, this wad is removed and a new one put in place. At the end of this wad is a string firmly attached to the wad and left at the entrance to her vagina. She simply pulls on the string and pulls out the tampon and discards it. These applicators are very smooth in order to be comfortable to use. This is the cleanest and most discrete way to handle a monthly period. I hope you are familiar with menstrual periods, but if not, get a good book and read for that information,

so you don't have to use pads and feel like a baby in a diaper sooooooo uncomfortable and bulky tampons are like cotton balls but long
Becase they don't like pads, they feel like diapers, and they don't let the smell out like pads do, and well they are like a pad only in a "tubeish" shape, and go inside the girl instead of sticking to the panties
A tampon is a cotton or cardboard absorbent for girls that are on they're periods, i use them when i go out so i dont feel self conscience about it might leaking through my pants. a period is something girls get every 28 days, you bleed from your vagina & it can last from 3-7 days..girls can us pads that you put on your underwear, or tampons that you insert into the vagina to absorb it.

i use them because there easer and they dont smell and with pads the blood can go every where so tampons just seam easer

A tampon is best described as an absorbent cork.It absorbs the blood and stops the flow. Great also if you have a really bad nose bleed that wont stop.
