Iud: any women who have gotten a mirena put in does it hurt?!
Question: I just got mine on 11/12/07. During the insertion, you'll have pain, like a intense menstrual cramp but nothing that can't be tolerated. You can take ibuprofen before you go in, it seems to help, and afterwards for the mild cramps (if you have any). So far, i'm loving it.

I do it didn't hurt
It does hurt a little when they insert it in because they have to clamp your uterus and you can have cramping for up to a few days after it was inserted. I only cramped for a couple of hours though. Over all it was worth it (I think)...I don't have periods, I don't have to remember to take pills every day, and its good for 5 years.
I had it done and I've never had kids, so it's more difficult. It did hurt. But it was SO worth it! I love it!
ha! do what you want, but my sister's fell out, just literally FELL OUT, and when she went back to the ob/gyn's they said it happens a lot, and sometimes you don't even know. Of course they waited until AFTER she was depending on it to tell her!!!
