I use to be able to feel a tampon all the time when I wore them. I asked my doctor about it and he told me I was putting them in the right way its just I was more sensitive than other girls. He told me to try a different brand and see if that helps. So I tried the Playtex Sports and I haven't felt them once. And they provide extra protection. Get her those and see if it helps.
I think it depends on the person. I never used them until I was in college and found them uncomfortable at first, but loved them tremendously over kotex pads. Anyways, now I've had three kids, and I STILL feel they are uncomfortable the first day or two. I have nnoticed they are more uncomfortable if I use the wrong size. I can NEVER use the "super" and rarely use the "regular" I almost always use the "light" no matter what's going on. I hope that helps!
Sometimes tampons may cause discomfort if they are inserted in an awkward position. It should be inserted at a 45 degree angle. There are different ways to do it- either by squatting, sitting, or standing up with one leg elevated (maybe on the toilet). Maybe she is using a larger size than what she needs. When inserting, she should be relaxed. If you feel she is doing it correctly and there is still discomfort, you should consult a physician. It could be something more serious if the discomfort remains.
