Im 12, what can i do to get rid of my period or make it lighter? PLZ HELP?!

Question: There is a shot called Depo Provera that is actually a birth control shot, but after a while of using it, it will make your period stop. However, when it is happening, it will make it irregular and weird. You only have to get the shot once every 3 months. You can choose to have it in the hip or the arm (I recommend the hip because the arm will hurt like hell afterwards). If your mom won't let you get anything to deal with your period, just deal with it naturally. I know that pads suck balls, so try using tampons. I know it sounds scary, but tampons are really awesome because you don't even know that it's there! You just have to remember to change it every 4-8 hours or whenever you think it's leaking. Trust me, they're the best period-thing out there!

The Pill go and ask your doctor about it

At 12, this really isn't something you should be worrying about. Birth control will make your periods lighter or stop altogether, but the chances of finding a doctor who will prescribe them to you at 12 yrs old are pretty rare.

pills barely help TRUST ME! just go through with it and use heating pads on your stomach it helps with the cramps

You cannot ger rid of a period..you could go on some form of birth control to lighten it up, or not last as long.

Unless your period is unusually heavy or irregular there is nothing you can do about it. It take most women (girls) a few years for their period to get regulated. However, if something is "abnormal" about your period you need to see your doctor and ask about birth control pills. Keep in mind to completely honest with your parents and doctor. If youa re sexually active, TELL THEM!!! I know it will be hard, however, if you truly think something is wrong it will be for the best in the long run.

GOOD LUCK

their is not getting rid of it sweety. get used to cause it aint goin nowhere. i would say take the shot b/c they can reduce the # of periods you get but with all these birth controls causing health problems i wouldnt recommend that. not to mention that they tend to cause weight gain. and your parents will freak because they might think that letting you get bc is giving permission to have sex. you will be stuck with that red monster for the next 30 to 45 years. just deal with it.

To make your periods lighter, get plenty of rest, food and exercise especially. If you're having irregular periods (bleeding twice a month, not getting them every month) you may be able to go on the pill.

You're a brand new baby woman. It just comes with the territory. Later you'll have to deal with PMS, bloating, pregnancies, childbirth, menopause. Tough it out, kid, you'll be all right.

You are too young to start on any type of birth control medication. Periods are a very natural part of being a female, and yours have probably just started recently being 12 yrs. old. Heavy bleeding is not unusual at the beginning, but will regulate to a more normal flow as you get a bit older. Be patient, soon you will be glad your a girl, when your body develops into a curvy young lady.

I know i hate my period, but it's also another sign of saying you're still young and not pregnant. So i'd say 'just deal with it and get used to it.' A lot of women did, how could you not?
