THe pill is jusrt like the shot but less painfull, i think it can also cuese infections. im on the pill so you might wanna get that instead.

shots can make you were you cant have baby pill 4 sure

the shot has been known to make you gain weight, but you no longer have periods and this is only once a month. the pill, you have to remember to take everyday at the same time, but you still have periods, but not so much about weight gain. so there are pros and cons for both..you just have to decide!

Everyone reacts to birth control differently, so you need to keep that in mind. That being said, I have heard so many horror stories with the shot. I was miserable the entire time I was on it, too.

It has been proven to cause weight gain. 70% of women using Depo Provera gain weight. Almost half of the women using Depo Provera gain significant amounts. It has also be proven to cause bone density loss, and it doesn't get better after the shot is stopped. Menstrual irregularities are very common. Some women don't menstruate at all, some bleed almost non-stop.

If you don't like the pill (or some of the side effects), there are almost countless other pills you can try until you are satisfied. It doesn't take long for them to clear your system, either. If you don't like the shot (or have bad side effects), you are stuck for at least 3 months. It can take up to 8 months for it to clear your system completely, and you can continue to have the side effects the whole time.

Do your research, weigh your options, and talk with your doctor before you make your decision!

One problem with the shot that no one has mentioned is that if you have bad side effects, you're still stuck with the results for three months, till it wears off. Will the pill, you can stop it any day if you're unhappy with it. There's also only one shot, but there are a lot of different pill types to try. There's also the patch.

The best thing about the Pill is if you don't like the effects of it, you can change to a different one. If the shot causes bad side effects, like depression, you just have to wait it out. In long-term use, Depo-Provera can cause bone density loss, and I don't believe this is a problem with the Pill. If you take your pill on a reliable schedule, it's as effective as the shot.

The advantage of the shot is you don't have to remember to take a pill each day. An alternative would be the vaginal ring, NuvaRing, which is replaced once per month.
