Why am i cramping?!

Question: for the last 4 months i have had a normal period, came on time and had no cramps or warnings it was even coming....
(which is totally opposite from what i'm use to) so my doctor put me on the pill and i'm about a week into the pack but everyday i'm getting cramps... why and what are they... i looked on the pill swebsite to see if they were apart of the side effects but they aren't... has anyones else had this and will they go away?

your body is adjusting to the hormones being put into your body. sometimes it can cause hormone fluctuations so great that you experience cramping, spotting, or break-through bleeding. the first 3 months you are on your pill, your body is still adjusting, so you can experience these side effects. however, usually after the first back these will decrease in intensity, until you reach the 3rd month where they should be gone all together.
