Does an episode of vomiting and diahrea affect birth control?!

Question: I had an episode of vomiting and diahrea one day that last for a few hours, 3 hours before I take my pill. I was wondering if my birth control (Loestrin24) its effectiveness was altered in anyway?

As it was 3 hours before you took your pill you should be fine. If it had happened just after you took your pills you might have lost the pill.
Whenever you are in any doubt at all that your pill may not have been absorbed just use a back up contraceptive for the next 7 days.

it shouldnt have affected anything you have to be careful with antibiotics that dulls the effect of the birth control.

Yes it can affect the birth control pill IF you vomit up the pill and don't realise.

Also diarrohea (sorry i am an aussie and thats how we spell it) is basically food moving through your gastrointestinal system too fast and this often means that medications such as the pill move too fast and don't get time to be absorbed into the blood system fully.

The pill generally needs about an hour to dissolve in your bloodstream.
