Question about OB/GYN visits...?!

Question: I just moved, and have set up an appointment with a GYN doctor. I don't care much whether it's a guy or girl, but she happens to be a girl. My question is... What do GYN doc's really think when they're "down there"? My old ob/gyn only ever saw me because I was pregnant, and I didn't care what she thought then, but now.. I just worry about the silliest details. I guess... I don't know, I want to know if it makes their job easier if you shave/wax before a visit, what if I have a busy day and can't do a quick clean up job before I'm seen, will she judge, do you think? HELP! :(

Any thoughts, comments, funny stories... anything would help really, just let me know I'm not the only one who worries about this silly stuff :(

Cheers

Physicians are as human as anyone else, so what they might be thinking when they're "down there" is anybody's guess. Most are professional, though, and are thinking mostly about performing a thorough exam and promoting good health. Shaving or waxing is a personal choice. I don't think it makes much difference to the doctor. But DO NOT douche. That would wash away the normal organisms that fight infection, and also could interfere with the results of your Pap test. I used to work for a gyne doc, and you are NOT the only one who worries about this stuff, to be sure. Relax, and you'll be fine.

They see "that " kinda thing everyday.. They do not judge anyone. They haven't really got the time to be worrying whether you have kept yourself trimmed down there or not. Its best to be clean though. I mean you wouldn't wanna do that job if someone wasn't would you ?

Your not the only one that worries about that stuff.I was just talking to my b/f about that last night as to what the doc thinks when there "down there" I just think of as their doing there job and don't look at the details as to what it looks like or any of that.I don't think she will judge cause if you think about it I'm sure she's she some pretty bad stuff like the people that have STD's or infections and have visible symptoms.Good Luck and try not to worry so much about it!

thats the same thing i thought about before my first visit but ya gotta think about it they've seen worse than YOUR down there. dont worry about it besides the pap smear is not long at all and you're there for you and your sake so who cares about what the doctor thinks!
