im 14, and i used a tampon my first period when i was 13 when i was at my friends house, with my friends mom on the otherside of the bathroom door explaining what to do. so what you wanna do is put one leg up on the toilet and hold the tampon in your right hand with your thumb and middle finger on the grip and your pointer finger on the end of the tampon. then use your other hand and spread apart the two flaps of skin, and stick the tampon around there (about an inch away from your pee hole, i had a hard time finding my hole the first time too) you should point the tampon towards your waist or lower back. when i put it in it doesnt hurt at all, but some people feel a little whoosy. when you take it out it doesnt hurt either, but thats when i feel whoosy. good luck! hope i helped!!! i like tampax pearl or kotex tampons, the kotex applicators are a little bigger, but they are more comfy too me, and there are directions in every box of tampons,
