How common is it just to randomly skip a period?!

Question: So I havent got my period since October...pretty sure the beginning of october. its been about 60 days plus some. I was pretty concerned so I took a few home pregnancy tests and they all were negative, to make sure I went to the doctors the beginning of Dec and took a blood test, Everything came back negative... my sugar was normal, my hormones fine etc, he told me to just wait it out for a few more weeks and if I still dont get it to come back.
Just some background
Im a 21 year old female, I have had my period since I was 12 and it has always been regular. im slightly overweight, but nothing too much. Havent experienced any major weight increase or decrease. Im also a nursing student, so I understand menstration and what affects it.... stress etc. I just wanted to know if this has happened to other people... it seems to random to just miss a period out of the blue when there has been no significant changes in my lifestyle.

Its regular for women to skip a period I didn't have mine for about 1 month best 1 month of my life...so far.
This could be cause by stress or pressure.

I've definately heard of it happening. I'm a nursing student too... Ask a few girls in one of your classes about missing periods... I'm pretty positive a TON of women miss their periods because of stress or weight gain (diet, sleep schedule, work load..... the list goes on and on). Stop stressing and I can almost promise it will come back and you'll be looking forward to the next time it skips! lol. Good luck, honey.

Fairly normal believe it or not. Happened to my wife (she is on the pill), and we did the home pregnancy tests, and she went to the doctor. Doctor said that it is pretty normal - could be due to stress, or even the birth control pills, even though she has been on them for years.

Ive skipped a month. Never more than one though. And it evened out for me once I hit my mid twenties. I would imagine its normal to a certain point. Once is probably normal but when its been awhile I would get that checked.
